3 O'Clock Prayer to the Divine Mercy

Word of Our Lord recorded by Sister Faustina:

At three o'clock, implore My mercy especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, step yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony.

This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world.  I will allow you to enter into My deathlike sorrow.

In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion.

I remind you, My daughter, that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it;  invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners, for at that moment it was opened wide for every soul.  In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world - mercy triumphed over justice.

My daughter, try your best to make the Stations of the Cross in this hour, provided that your duties permit it and if you re not able to make the Stations of the Cross, then at least step into the chapel for a moment adn adore in teh Most Blessed Sacrament My Heart, which is full of mercy; and should you be unable to step into chapel, steep yourself in prayer there, where you happen to be, if only for a brief instant.

I claim (as My due) veneration for My mercy from every creature, but from you first of all, since to you I have given to understand this mystery most deeply.

Three O'Clock Prayer

You died, Jesus, but the source of life flowed out for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.  O Fountain of Life, immeasureable Divine Mercy, cover the whole world and empty yourself out upon us.  O Blood and Water which flowed out from the heart of Jesus as a Fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world. (3x)  Amen.

Jesus, King of Mercy, we trust in you!

Prayer of Thanksgiving

O Jesus, eternal God, I thank you for your countless graces and blessings.  Let every beat of my heart be a new hymn of thanksgiving to you, O God.  Let every blood circulate for you, Lord.  My soul is one hymn in adoration of your mercy.  I love you, God, for yourself alone.  Amen.

Novena to St. Lucy

Prayer To Saint Lucy
(Feast – December 13)
Patron Saint of Eye Ailments

SAINT LUCY,
Whose beautiful name
Signifies light, By the light of Faith
Which God bestowed upon you,
Increase and preserve
His light in my soul,
So that I may avoid evil,
Be zealous in the performance
Of good works,
And abhor nothing
So much as the blindness
And the darkness
Of evil and sin.

Obtain for me,
By your intercession
With God,
Perfect vision
For my bodily eyes
And the grace to use them
For God’s greater honor
And glory
And the salvation of souls.

St. Lucy,
Virgin and martyr,
Hear my prayers
And obtain my petitions.

Amen.

Prayer for Priests

by St. Therese of the Child Jesus

O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them.  Keep unstained their anointed hands which daily touch Your Sacred Body.  Keep unsullied their lips daily purpled with Your Sacred Blood.  Keep pure and unearthly their hearts sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.  Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world's contagion.  Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here, and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.  Amen.

St. There of the Child Jesus, pray for us.

Chaplet of Protection

Jesus attached specific promises of protection to this prayer. This prayer goes even FURTHER than storms, natural disasters, and military strife. It has a GREAT HEALING POWER attached to it, as well, in that it can mend broken marriages, and cure spiritual, physical and emotional troubles. It has "another dimension of protection, even greater than what we can understand at this time."

In the context of protection against storms, natural disasters, and increasing global military tension, Jesus has asked us to URGENTLY spread this special devotion. It is NOT intended to replace the everyday Rosary of our Blessed Mother.

All the below prayers may be said in your native language and by using a typical Rosary.

The chaplet is said by starting with the Crucifix and reciting the Apostles' Creed, then the Our Father, followed by three Hail Mary's on the group of three beads nearest the Crucifix.

First Hail Mary in praise of God the Father; Second Hail Mary in petition or (mention your request); Third Hail Mary in thanksgiving with confidence that your request will be granted.

On ALL the Gloriam (Glory be to the Father...) beads, recite "Holy God, Holy Omnipotent One, save us who dwell in this land."

On EACH decade, on EACH Hail Mary bead (10), recite "Jesus Savior, merciful Savior, spare your people."

On completion of the fifth decade, recite "Son of God, Eternal Son, thank You for the things You have done." Say this a total of three (3) times to complete the Chaplet of Protection.

Prayers of the Chaplet:

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Prayer to St. Agatha

Oh St. Agatha, who withstood the unwelcome advances from unwanted suitors, and suffered pain and torture for your devotion to Our Lord, we celebrate your faith, dignity, and martyrdom.

Protect us against rape and other violations, guard us against breast cancer and other afflictions of women, and inspire us to overcome adversity.

Oh St. Agatha, virgin and martyr, mercifully grant that we who venerate your sacrifice, may receive your intercession. Amen.

St. Agatha, pray for us.

Imprimatur

] V. Germond

Vicar General

Niciae, September 23, 1940

In full obedience to our Holy Father the Pope, we submit without reserve the entire contents of this text to the judgment of the Apostolic See of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

Approbation

These Prayers and these Promises were copied from a book printed in Toulouse in 1740 and published by the Father Adrien Parvilliers of the Society of Jesus, Apostolic Missionary of the Holy Land, with the approbation, permission and recommendation to spread the devotion.

In the 14th century, printing not yet invented, Pope Urban VI encouraged copyists to multiply their efforts to produce these revelations for kings, Bishops, universities, libraries, monasteries and convents eager these revelations.

Over the years, numerous Prelates, including His Eminence Cardinal Giraud of Cambria (1845) and Archbishop Florian of Toulouse (1863), gave their approval to the books containing these Prayers and Promises. On May 31, 1862, the collection of small books containing these prayers was blessed by His Holiness Pope Pius IX. In the prologue, the Holy Father recognized them as true and for the good of souls. On August 22 of the following year, this collection was recommended by the Great Congress of Malines.

Pope Benedict XV expressed himself as follows on the Revelations of Saint Bridget:

"The approbation of such revelations implies nothing more than, after mature examination, it is permissible to publish them for the unit of the faithful. Though they don't merit the same credence as the truths of religion, one can, however, believe them out of human faith, conforming to the rules of prudence by which they are probable, and supported by sufficient motives that one might believe them piously. (Les Petits Bollandistes, tome XII)

The 14th of June 1303, at the moment Bridget was born, Benedict, the curate of Rasbo, prayed for the happy deliverance of Ingeborde. Suddenly he found himself enveloped by a luminous cloud out of which Our Lady appeared:

"A child has been born at Birger; her voice will be heard by the entire world." Safii, die XXIV Aprilis 1903.

Visitors to the Church of Saint Paul in Rome can see the natural size Crucifix sculptured by Pierre Cavalini (above the Blessed Sacrament Chapel's Tabernacle) before which Saint Bridget knelt and the following inscription commemorating the miracle of Christ conversing with Bridget from the Crucifix:

"Pendentis, Pendente Dei verba accepit aure accipit et verbum corde Brigitta Deum. Anno Jubilei MCCCL."

Magnificent Promises to Saint Bridget of Sweden

The Promises

Saint Bridget prayed for a long time to know how many blows Our Lord suffered during His terrible Passion. Rewarding her patience, one day He appeared to her and said: "I received 5475 blows upon My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, recite fifteen Our Fathers and fifteen Hail Marys with the following Prayers, which I Myself shall teach you, for an entire year. When the year is finished, you will have honored each of My Wounds."

Our Lord grants these promises to all who devoutly recite the 15 Saint Bridget Prayers every day for a year:

Prayers of St. Bridget, Secret to Happiness

FIRST PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus Christ! Eternal sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners. Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be amongst men even assuming human nature during the course of time for love of men, recall all the suffering that Thou hast endured from the first moment of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from all eternity in the Divine Plan.

Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples, having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst foretell them Thy coming Passion.

Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: “My soul is sorrowful even unto death”.

Remember all the fear, anguish and pain that Thou didst suffer in Thy delicate Body before the torment of the crucifixion, when, after having prayed three separate times, bathed in a sweat of blood, Thou wast betrayed by Judas, Thy Disciple, arrested by the people of a nation Thou hadst chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges, all this in the flower of Thy youth and during the solemn Paschal season.

Remember that Thou wast despoiled of Thy garments and clothed with the garments of derision; that Thy face and eyes were veiled, that Thou wast buffeted, crowned with thorns, a reed placed in Thy hands, that Thou wast fastened to a column and crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages. In memory of all these pains and sufferings which Thou didst endure before Thy Passion on the Cross, grant that before I die, I may make with true contrition, a sincere and entire confession, make worthy satisfaction and be granted the remission of all my sins. Amen.

SECOND PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! True liberty of angels, Paradise of delights remember the horror and sadness which Thou didst endure when Thy enemies, like furious lions, surrounded Thee, and by thousands of insults, spits, blows, lacerations and other unheard of cruelties, tormented Thee at will. Through these torments and insulting words, I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, to deliver me from all enemies, both visible and invisible, and under Thy protection, may I attain the perfection of eternal salvation. Amen.

THIRD PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Creator of heaven and earth whom nothing can encompass or limit. Thou who dost enfold and hold all under Thy Loving power. Remember the very bitter pain which Thou who dost enfold and hold all under Thy Loving power. Remember the very bitter pain which Thou dist suffer when the Jews nailed Thy Sacred Hands and Feet to the Cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and, not finding Thee in a pitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, they enlarged Thy wounds and added pain to pain and with indescribable cruelty stretched Thy Body on the Cross and dislocated Thy bones by pulling them on all sides. I beg of Thee, O Jesus, by the memory or this most holy and most loving suffering of the Cross, to grant me the grace to fear Thee and love Thee. Amen.

FOURTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Heavenly physician, raised aloft on the Cross in order that through Thy wounds ours might be healed, remember the bruises which Thou didst suffer and the weakness of all Thy Members which were distended to such a degree that never was there pain like unto Thine. From the crown of Thy Head to the Soles of Thy Feet there was not one spot on Thy Body that was not in torment and yet, forgetting all Thy sufferings, Thou dist not crease to pray to Thy Heavenly Father for Thy enemies, saying: “Father, forgive them they know not what they do”. Through this great Mercy, and in memory f this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Thy Most
Bitter Passion may effect in us a perfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen.

FIFTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Mirror of eternal splendour, remember the sadness which Thou experienced, when, contemplating in the light of Thy Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Thy Sacred Passion, Thou didst see at the same time the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins, and Thou dist complain bitterly of those hopeless, lost and unfortunate sinners.

Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which Thou displayed to the good thief when Thou sadist to him: “This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise”. I beg of Thee O Sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, Thou wilt show me mercy. Amen.

SIXTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! King most loving and most desirable, remember the grief which Thou dist suffer, when naked and like a common criminal, Thou wast raised and fastened to the Cross, when all Thy relatives and friends abandoned Thee, except Thy Beloved Mother who remained close to Thee during Thy agony and whom Thou dist entrust to Thy faithful disciple when Thou saidst to Mary: “Woman, behold Thy Son!” and to St. John: “Behold Thy Mother!”.

I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, by the sword of sorrow which pierced the soul of Thy holy Mother, to have compassion on me in all my afflictions and tribulations, both corporal and spiritual, and to assist me in all my trials, and especially at the hour of my death. Amen.

SEVENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Inexhaustible Fountain of compassion, Who by a profound gesture of Love, said from the Cross: “I thirst!” suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race. I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts, and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardour of worldly desires. Amen.

EIGHTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the gall and vinegar which Thou didst taste on the Cross for love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that It may serve us as a remedy of consolation for our souls. Amen.

NINTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Royal virtue, joy of the mind, recall the pain that Thou dist endure when, plunged in the ocean of bitterness at the approach of death; insulated, outraged by the Jews Thou dist cry out in a loud voice that Thou wast abandoned by Thy Father, saying: “My God, my God, why Hast Thou forsaken me?”. Through this anguish, I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, not to abandon me in the terrors and paints of my death. Amen.

TENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Who are the beginning and end of all things, life and virtue, remember that for our sakes Thou wast plunged in an abyss of suffering from the Soles of Thy Feet to the crown of Thy Head. In consideration of the enormity of Thy Wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Thy Commandments, who way is wide and easy for those who love Thee. Amen.

ELEVENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Deep abyss of mercy, I beg of Thee, in memory of Thy Wounds which penetrated to the very marrow of Thy Bonds and to the depth of Thy being, to draw me, a miserable sinner, overwhelmed by my offences, away form sin and to hide me from Thy face justly irritated again me. Hide me in Thy wounds, until Thy anger and indig nation shall have passed away. Amen.

TWELFTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Mirror of truth, symbol of unity, link of Charity, remember the multitude of wounds with which Thou wast afflicted from head to foot, torn and reddened by the spilling of Thy adorable Blood. O great and Universal Pain, which Thou didst suffer in Thy virginal Flesh for Love of us! Sweetest Jesus! What is there that Thou couldst have done for us which Thou has not done?

May the fruit of Thy sufferings by renewed in my soul by the faithful remembrance of Thy Passion. May Thy Love increase in my heart every day, until I see Thee in eternity, Thou Who are the treasure of every real good and every joy, which I beg Thee to grant me, O Sweetest Jesus, in heaven. Amen.

THIRTEENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail MaryO Jesus! Strong Lion, Immortal and Invincible King, remember the pain which Thou didst endure when all Thy strength, both moral and physical, wast entirely exhausted, Thou didst bow Thy head, saying: “All is consummated!”

Through this anguish and grief I beg of Thee Lord Jesus, to have mercy on me at the hour of my death, when my mind will be greatly troubled and my soul will be in anguish. Amen.

FOURTEENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! Only Son of the Father, Splendour and Figure on His Substance, remember the simple and humble recommendation Thou dist make of Thy Soul to Thy Eternal Father, saying “Father, into Thy hands I commend my spirit”, and when Thy Body, all torn, and Thy Heart broken, and the bowels of Thy Mercy open to redeem us Thou didst Expire. By this Precious Death, I beg Thee, O King of Saints, comfort me and give me help to resist the devil, the flesh and the world, so that, being dead to the world, I may live for Thee alone. I beg of Thee at the hour of my death to receive me, a pilgrim and an exile returning to Thee. Amen.

FIFTEENTH PRAYER

Our Father – Hail Mary O Jesus! True and fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of Blood which Thou dist so generously shed, from Thy Sacred Body pressed down and running over as the grape crushed in the wine press.

From Thy side, pierced with a lance by a soldier, blood and water issued forth until there was not left in Thy Body a single drop and finally, like a bundle of myrrh lifted to the very top of the Cross, Thy delicate Flesh was destroyed, the very Substance of Thy Body withered, and the Marrow of Thy Bones dried up.

Through this bitter Passion and through the outpouring of Thy Precious Blood, I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, to pierce my heart, so that my tears of Penitence and love may be my bread night and day. May I be converted entirely to Thee, may my heart be Thy perpetual resting place, may my conversation be pleasing to Thee, and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy that I may merit Heaven and there, with Thy saints, praise Thee forever. Amen.
